gitbtw
A place to put git repositories. That's the whole product.
What it isn't
It is not a social network. There are no stars, no upvotes, no followers, no feeds, no trending page, no streaks, no contribution graphs, no badges, no profile that ranks you. Nobody is competing for anything here and nothing is designed to keep you scrolling.
It is not a product funnel. No pricing tiers, no "upgrade to unlock", no copilot nagging you in the editor, no telemetry, no tracking, no analytics script watching where your mouse goes. No JavaScript at all except two small inline bits for a search box and a file filter.
What it is
- Repositories. Push over ssh, clone over ssh or https. Browse the tree, read files with syntax highlighting, follow the history, see who touched a line.
- Pull requests that need no account. Push to
refs/for/<branch>with your key, or paste agit format-patchon the site. Anonymous patches get a secret link instead of a login. - READMEs in Markdown or org-mode, rendered and sanitized.
- Themes. Pick a palette. It's a cookie, it works logged out.
- Plain pages. Every page is server rendered HTML that works in any browser, on any connection, with styles turned off.
How it's built
One PHP app, one Postgres database, git on disk, nginx in front. No framework, no build step, no package manager. The whole thing is a few thousand lines you can read in an afternoon.
Just code.
